About Lynn Portnoy

Lynn Portnoy has received many awards and prominent recognition for unique womens fashions, multiple charitable events, and travel guides for women. Ms. Portnoy started her career in fashion at Joseph Magnin, San Francisco. She then joined the prestigious Claire Pearone's store at Somerset Mall in Troy, Michigan. Ms. Portnoy opened her first store in 1980 in downtown Detroit, before moving to the Detroit northern suburbs. She has specialized in dressing professional, high-powered women and community activists.

Her store also serves as a popular women's networking destination. Ms. Portnoy has hosted innumerable charitable events and political fundraisers, which have featured fashion seminars such as the popular Traveling With One Bag. The first book in her series of liberating travel guides for women - Going Like Lynn - Paris was followed up by her second book, Going Like Lynn - New York, and then with her third book Going Like Lynn Florence.All three books have been well received.
